Darkwatch Xbox Review

What's not to like?

  • cowboys
  • steampunk
  • vampires
  • ghosts
  • rocket launchers
I'd love to see a sequel to this but unfortunately the sequel planned for 360 got cancelled.

Some of the levels were really hard - mainly the final boss fights (2 of them).

And both of those I found that the information in the walkthroughs led me astray.

For the first boss fight - in the town, before the bridge, don't bother using the rooftops, use the doorways for extra weapons and rely on the ghosts dropping stuff for your redeemer.

Dynamite is better for taking out the generating trees.

And the last boss - don't try and run away from her attacks. Get underneath her and shoot her from as close as you can get, picking up weapons as you go.

In the driving level where the computer voice tells you "keep moving, its your only defence!". Ignore it. Your best defence is to find a place to park then shoot everything that comes at you.

I thought this was a great game and well worth playing through.

It starts as a linear level, level, level game. Then changes gear a little when you join the darkwatch, then there are some driving levels. Then you choose the order of three levels for some reason. Then it is level, level, level again.

Some great set pieces and it never felt easy.

Well recommended.
